Resources Overview
Resources model shared physical assets — treatment rooms, laser machines, studio spaces — and link them to services. Once assigned, DaySpark tracks availability and prevents double booking.
What Is a Resource?
A resource is a location-specific asset that only one appointment can use at a time: a room, piece of equipment, or shared space. Resources belong to a single location and are separate from staff — a room can host different providers, and staff can work without a resource assigned.
How Double Booking Prevention Works
Online booking — Time slots where the required resource is already booked are hidden, so clients cannot select a conflicting time.
Calendar (staff app) — When creating or editing appointments, DaySpark checks for overlaps. If a conflict exists, you'll see a warning and can choose another time or proceed anyway.
Setup
- Create resources in Settings → Resources — see Managing resources
- Assign each resource to a service per location in the service dialog — see Assign to service
Services without a resource assigned behave as before; tracking only applies where a resource is explicitly linked.
Next Steps
TIP
Start with the assets that are genuinely shared and limited — rooms and equipment that cause scheduling conflicts if double booked.
